Cort's Corner -> Photographs -> France

Of all the countries that I have visited, France is a little special, as the only time I've stepped on shore in France is at night and fairly late. The only places I went to is the Seaman's Club (around where the below photos were taken), an oversized supermarket, and McDonalds.

Marseille (France)

At the Seaman's Club, my colleagues were happily drinking themselves into a stupor. Why they couldn't have just drank onboard where it's cheaper, I'll never know. Nevertheless, drunk men makes for poor conversation so I snuck out on my own.

The club is in a residential area, so there is not much to explore. I did however, rather liked the atmosphere. The streets were quiet and lit with dim but warm lights. And as you can probably guess from the photo, it was pretty close to christmas and rather cold.

These photos are pretty dark, and have much of it's details in the shadows. It's strongly recommended that you calibrate your monitor to gamma 2.5 before viewing them. If the photos still looks too dark after monitor calibration, it's probably just me. But at least your monitor's calibrated now.

My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph.
